Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing or using HorseJournal you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. The service

HorseJournal is a private journaling app that lets horse lovers record activities, save photos and videos, mark milestones, and share moments inside small private "circles". The service is operated by Corani ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Belgium (company number 0808.134.120, VAT BE 0808.134.120), with its registered office at St.-Ermelindisstraat 11, 3320 Meldert (Hoegaarden).

3. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher) to create a HorseJournal account. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has read these Terms and our Privacy Policy and agrees on your behalf.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that takes place on your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use HorseJournal for anything illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, hateful or sexually explicit;
• Upload content that infringes anyone else's rights (including copyright);
• Try to break, reverse-engineer, decompile or scrape the service;
• Use the service to send spam or to impersonate someone else;
• Share another person's photos or personal information without their consent — and, for minors, without their parent or guardian's consent.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload to HorseJournal — your photos, videos, notes and journal entries are yours.

You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, display and back up your content for the sole purpose of providing the HorseJournal service to you and to the people you share with through your circles. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

You confirm that you have the right to upload the content you put into HorseJournal.

6. Premium subscriptions

HorseJournal is free to use. Premium unlocks additional features (more horses, more photos per horse, unlimited photo moments, video moments, and the ability to create your own circles).

6.1 Pricing

• Premium Monthly: €3 per month.
• Premium Yearly: €20 per year.

Prices may differ by country and may be adjusted by Apple to reflect local taxes and currency. The exact price you pay is shown in the App Store before you confirm the purchase.

6.2 Billing & auto-renewal

Premium subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and are billed to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.

6.3 How to cancel

You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time from your iPhone:
Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → HorseJournal.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Premium features until then.

6.4 Refunds

All payments for in-app purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy. We are unable to issue refunds directly.

6.5 Stable codes

Riding schools and stables can request an exclusive code that unlocks Premium for their members. Codes are issued at our discretion, are tied to a specific organisation, and may be revoked if used in violation of these Terms.

7. Termination

You can stop using HorseJournal at any time and delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account).

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued operation would be technically or commercially unreasonable. Where possible, we will let you know in advance.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

HorseJournal is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties — express or implied — about the service, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific content will always be available.

Always keep your own backups of important photos and videos.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corani shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, content or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of HorseJournal. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer-protection law.

10. Apple-specific terms

The following terms apply because HorseJournal is distributed through the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are concluded between you and Corani only, and not with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for HorseJournal or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for HorseJournal.
• If HorseJournal fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to HorseJournal.
• Corani, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to HorseJournal, including product-liability, legal-compliance or intellectual-property claims.
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be brought before the competent courts of Meldert (Hoegaarden), Belgium, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you inside the app and update the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of HorseJournal after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
