Mane brush
A mane brush is a brush or wide comb to detangle and smooth the mane.

What is it for?
It keeps the mane free of tangles and knots.
Where on the horse?
In the mane along the neck.
How do you use it?
Work from the bottom up and, if needed, use your fingers or a little detangler spray first to limit breakage.
What to watch for
A wide comb or a brush with flexible pins is often preferred over a fine brush, because it breaks fewer hairs.
Role in the grooming session
For detangling the mane during grooming.
