Cannon
The straight bone between knee (or hock) and fetlock, with the tendons behind it.
What is it?
The circumference of the cannon, measured just below the knee, is a classic gauge of bone strength relative to weight. The flexor tendons behind it are vulnerable; heat or swelling here is always a warning.
