A star is a white mark on the forehead, above the eyes.
How do you recognise this marking?
A defined white mark in the middle of the forehead, above the line of the eyes. The shape can be round, oval, triangular or irregular and ranges from a few hairs to a broad patch.

The star is one of the most used features on a passport or identity card. If the white mark sits above the corner of the eye it is a star; if the white continues down over the nasal bones it becomes a stripe or blaze. Under the white hair is pink skin, which helps define the exact edge.
