Halter
The halter is a set of straps around the head without a bit, used to lead or tie a horse.
What is it for?
It is used to lead the horse in hand and to tie it up safely.

Halters come in nylon, leather and rope. The lead rope clips to a ring under the jaw. A breakable part or quick-release clip can give way in a panic.
