Curb bit
The curb is a bit that works by leverage through shanks and a curb chain.
What is it for?
It amplifies a light rein aid and acts on the chin and poll as well as the mouth.

When the rein is drawn, the shanks rotate and the curb chain tightens. The curb is often used with a snaffle in a double bridle (Weymouth and bradoon), allowed at the higher dressage levels.
