Snaffle bit
The snaffle is a bit that works with direct pressure, without leverage.
What is it for?
It passes the rein pressure straight to the mouth, in the same measure the rider applies.

The snaffle has rings on each side, with an unjointed, single- or double-jointed mouthpiece. Loose rings allow more play, eggbutt rings a steadier contact. It is the most common bit and the only one allowed at the lower dressage levels.
