Body brush
A body brush (soft brush) has short, soft bristles that smooth the coat and pick up fine dust.
What is it for?
It removes the last fine dust and spreads natural oils, which gives the coat its shine.
Where on the horse?
Over almost the whole body and, thanks to the soft bristles, on more sensitive areas too.
How do you use it?
With long, sweeping strokes in the direction of the hair; between strokes you draw it across a curry comb to keep it clean.
What to watch for
Because it reaches deeper into the coat, it works best on a horse already cleared of coarse dirt; do not force it over painful or irritated spots.
Role in the grooming session
One of the last steps, for a smooth, well-kept coat.
