Face brush
A face brush is a small, extra-soft brush for the sensitive skin of the head.
What is it for?
It gently cleans the face around the eyes, nose and jaw without causing irritation.
Where on the horse?
On the head: around the eyes, over the nose, the cheeks and behind the ears.
How do you use it?
With short, soft strokes; a separate brush keeps dirt from the rest of the body away from the face.
What to watch for
Work calmly and carefully around the eyes and nostrils; do not use a hard brush or curry comb here.
Role in the grooming session
For cleaning the head, often towards the end of the session.
