Grooming mitt
A grooming mitt is a rubber or sheepskin glove for dry grooming and for sensitive horses.
What is it for?
It lifts dust and loose hair and touches up the coat, with a soft feel that many horses enjoy.
Where on the horse?
Over the body and, thanks to the soft feel, on more sensitive zones such as the face, legs and girth area.
How do you use it?
You slip it over your hand and rub over the coat with the shape of your hand.
What to watch for
Adjust the pressure; it stays a grooming aid, not a replacement for picking out hooves or thorough brushing.
Role in the grooming session
For touch-ups and sensitive horses, or as a softer alternative to the curry comb.
