Sweat scraper: A sweat scraper is a curved tool of rubber or metal to scrape excess water or sweat off the coat.

What is it for?

It clears water and sweat so the horse dries faster and cools down less.

Where on the horse?

Over the large, flat areas of the body; not over bony parts or the legs.

How do you use it?

Draw it with the hollow side in the direction of the hair to sweep the moisture off.

What to watch for

Use it on the fleshy areas and not over bone; on the legs and face a cloth is a better choice.

Role in the grooming session

After a bath or sweaty work, to get the horse dry sooner.
