The geometry

Two equal circles or voltes that touch each other at a central point, so that the path describes the shape of a figure of eight (8). At the touch point the horse passes from one bend into the other and thus changes rein.

Good to know

A figure of eight consists of two equal circles; at the intersection the rider makes a change of rein with a brief moment of a straight horse. The two circles must be equally sized.
