The geometry

A series of equal loops (half circles, whether or not connected by straight sections) that go back and forth across the width of the arena. Each loop touches the long side and the centre line is crossed at right angles each time.

Good to know

The number of loops determines the diameter of the half circles: more loops means smaller, sharper turns. At each passage of the centre line the bend, and thus the rein, changes.
